Guilty Or Innocent (CBS)

No matter how precise the U.S. legal system is, verdicts often rely on circumstantial evidence or “reasonable doubt.” Prosecutors and defense attorneys may plead their case to the best of their abilities and jurors may use their keenest judgment in formulating a verdict, but it remains an imperfect system. At each trial, someone had been convicted, but the guilt of that person or persons is now in serious doubt as respected legal organizations investigate and build evidence for appeals or pleas to reopen the case. Through reenactments and expert testimonies, the story of a crime is recreated from discovery of the crime scene through the investigation to conviction, employing flashbacks to reveal several possible scenarios.
